GageList provides Bias studies to determine the systematic difference between measurements obtained with a particular measurement system and a reference value. This feature enables users to quantify any consistent overestimation or underestimation of measurements. By identifying and addressing bias, GageList helps ensure the accuracy of measurements and their traceability to established standards.

To view or add studies, see MSA Overview.

Performing the study

  1. Add a new MSA study with the study type set to “Bias Study (AIAG MSA v4)”.
  2. Fill in the Study Information section.
  3. Enter measurement data for the study. This can be done by using Guided Trials or entering values in the Measurement Data section.
  4. Once the Measurement Data section is complete, click Run Report to generate the study results.
  5. The study can be marked as complete and a PDF report can be exported.

Entering data using Guided Trials

  1. Scroll to the Guided Trials section.
  2. Select the randomization options for the study. These include:
    • Randomize Parts: Selects a random part number for each measurement. If disabled, parts are selected in order.
    • Randomize Appraisers: Selects a random appraiser for each measurement (if alternating) or trial (not alternating). If disabled, appraisers are selected in order.
    • Alternate Appraisers: Selects appraisers between measurements. If disabled, the appraiser must complete their trial before the next appraiser is selected.
  3. Click Enter Data.
  4. Begin recording your measurements based on the displayed appraiser, part and trial.
  5. Once completed, click Done.
